Client: Ahmed, 39 — Former engineer, newcomer to Canada
Struggling with underemployment and identity loss after immigration
Ahmed arrived in Canada full of hope and credentials. A highly experienced engineer in his home country, he found himself working survival jobs while sending out résumés that led nowhere. “I feel invisible,” he told me during our first call.
In our sessions, we explored more than career strategy; we explored grief. The loss of professional identity, the unfamiliarity of a new system, and the silent pressure to prove his worth all over again.
Using emotional mapping and Enneagram work, we reframed his experience not as a setback but as a transition. We rebranded his story, practiced narrative confidence, and focused on alignment rather than urgency. Today, Ahmed is working in a project management role in a startup, where his international experience is valued, and his confidence has returned.
